travelling home

i leave here tomorrow afternoon to make the long journey home.....

a coach trip of many hours where i hope to sit and enjoy many hours of crochet.....

it fills me with a huge amount of joy as i will be able to hold my precious family so close - it has been far too long since i last did this, but of course it is a time of sadness as i also must attend my grandads funeral on Friday.

the last few days have passed in a blur, seemingly it all became too much for little old me and i just stopped.... stopped speaking, eating, seeing....
i just spent two whole days in bed crying for the loss of my Grandad, and quite frankly for anything or anybody else that i have ever lost including a very large green crocodile that i suddenly remembered from my childhood (?) - losing someone makes you remember all the others that have gone before.
but today i dragged myself out of bed and started to organize myself for the journey ahead - suddenly realising that due to the washing machine only working on days that she fancies despite two visits from the indesit engineer, i have very little in the way of clean clothes and no suitable bag to pack them in.
i will arrive in London with no p.j's and just the knickers that i will be wearing..... perhaps a little shopping may be needed?

but i will not care as my family will be there, waiting to hug me and no doubt we will all be talking at once but managing to understand everything .....

it will be a time for family, for remembering, for crying and laughing... for holding each other close as we say goodbye to a very important part of our family.......

and looking at each other and seeing a little of him in each and everyone of us x

thank you all for your messages, my family and i have been so overwhelmed x
i will be back after my road trip

Tracy,
My dearest friend, I'm sending you the strengh and peace for your long journey ahead. Just hold on to those memories forever my sweet girl. Find a little time to smile with your family as well as sharing the tears. I'm sure Harry will be with you every step of the way. Standing hand in hand with your dear Grandmother. To have and to hold together forever they walk with angels and keep you and your family safe.
Safe journey. Thinking of you.
With love,
Catherine x

Tracy I was driving through Bethersden on Friday and suddenly thought of you - have no idea if this is where you were going to be for your Grandfather or whether he lived elsewhere - anyway as I as driving through the village and the wintry lanes I found myself wondering how you were. Hope all the animals were being well looked after you - nothing like them to give you a good welcome home....
