blue

after feeling happy over the last few days it has come as a shock that today is proving to be a little tricky.....

the temperature has fallen and i am struggling to wrap orders without the ends of my fingers snapping off and attaching themselves to the sellotape..

we have a lame sheep - she was fine yesterday but is hobbling around with a hopeless look on her face today - we have had one attempt at catching her but she still manages to outwit us - we are unsure if she just needs her foot trimming, has a touch of foot rot or has fallen down a bloody rabbit hole....

pete, the sheep expert has informed us that Rodders the Ram is depressed - WHAT...
every morning after letting the dogs out and before releasing the mad ponies, Rodders is let out to roam around the entire field - he is soooo my boy that i just call him when playtime is over and he follows me back in to his own field x
apparently he is depressed firstly because he is slightly out of condition due to the poor quality of grass in his main field - we now have a large fencing job to create yet another paddock - just another job to add to the massive list....
Stephen is off out to collect a special protein/mineral lick for him whilst i feel guilty that my very special lad is unhappy :(
he is also depressed as it is the time of year when he must live up to his name - there are girls in season nearby and he thinks he is the man for the job - sadly the girls are waiting for their own Boreray Beau to arrive ...
with no Castlemilk Morit girlies in sight this year we have made the decision to purchase a few girls for him from a nearby market - we are hoping for a few Shetland ladies to join us next week - they are a small, hardy breed that are said to be good mothers that deliver easily and produce a good amount of milk - sounds perfect x
hopefully the lick, new paddock and some pretty girls will make him feel 100% better

the third, and hopefully last - bad news comes in three's - right?
after waiting for many, many weeks for my washing machine to be installed it has decided that actually it is really unhappy about being moved and has decided to stop working - of course it waited until it had filled up with water before doing so....
Indesit inform us that it probably needs a new chip - is the chip going to cost us more than the price of a new machine???
so - a load of soaking wet washing to contend with....

i shall leave you today with a nice picture of lovely new goodies, and for those that have asked if they can purchase goodies...
yay
i shall get back to you over the weekend
after i have done a little song and dance for Rodders, watched whilst the girls endure a pedicure, ignored the bloody washing machine and generally shivered my way to a dress size smaller....

what more could a ram want, new home, new women and new feed sounds like moste male wishlists that I know. Anyway hun the goodies look great and as for the washing machine, when I replaced mine I went for the bulk standard model wash, spin and out on the line, bloody computer chips in a washer what next and you are probably right it will cost more than a new one

On that note I am off to do some shivering of my own, pretty these stone houses may be but warm they ain't

love jules xx

Oh Tracy, sorry things are a bit grim (and cold). On the up side though, it is lovely having you post more - we missed you x
How do you take such gorgeous photos of your pretty things? Need lessons please.
Hope all comes right soon and our bloody machine needs a new chip too...argh!!!! xx

Sorry you're having a rough day .. I'm sending your ram a big (((hug))) poor fella! Hope your lame sheep is sorted soon too - what a worry.

Despite the cold & the grim washing machine news, your photos are lovely and look really festive.

Ack! Washing machines. Mine has been leaking for ages. Just enough to annoy me with the odd puddle, which I usually find when I am making a cuppa in my bare fee!. Anyway, I can't afford to get it fixed so the leak (coming through the rubber seal) has been bunged up with blutack.

We're cold here, too. Lots of layers being worn with hot water bottles in between them....and cats cuddling up to us:o)

Hope Rodders has a smile on his face soon:o)) Bless.... and that you catch Hopalong:o)

Hi Tracy,
Still hanging on in there I hope...
We are down to one lovely but infuriating puppy now - wondering whether to call her Dora, Dinah or Gertie. And what people don't tell you about living in the remote countryside is the cold... and the MUD. We are fine her by the sea unless the wind swings round tot he north north/east which it did earlier this week. I was typing articles in fingerless gloves and coat and going to bed when my four year old did - just to keep warm. And as for any washing drying.... the house was draped with it, like some crazy shroud factory or something! Anyway, your goodies look lovely - and Rodders is do lucky to have you. Hope you are both perkier soon.
xx Elspeth

Hi Tracy

Keep smiling! Rodders will soon be revived by the lick and the ladies, I'm sure. Oh the joys of keeping livestock!

Lovely shop stock, and just think what fun it'll be to knit fingerless gloves from your own wool one day!

oh, crap :(
I do hate days like that. I hope your poor boy gets a smile on his face soon, and as for the washer - well, that's just REALLY crap! I hate washers, and there's proof they are the devil's machines ;)

ooh I love the pink and green tape measure holders do you make and sell them?? That would be a perfect gift for someone I know...when my hoover died the repair man hoofed a huge piece of rock from it's innards and asked me "Do you ave a dog that brings stones in?"
" No just a 5yr old on!"
It's poo when the machines die isn't it? Any old mangles lying around up there? My mum was remembering her mum using one when we chatted last night!

Sorry to hear you're feeling fed up. I've been having one of those weeks too. Poor old Rodders! I'm sure he will soon feel happy again, especially with some lovely ladies to keep him company. Hope you get the washing machine sorted. We recently had to buy a new one. Such a boring thing to spend money on. Shivering down here in Oxfordshire too. x

Poor Rodders..and poor limping sheep..it must be so frustrating not being able to catch her to help her. I can hear the Barry White tune that'll be playing when Rodders meets his new Laaaydeees..ooooh yehhhh!
I'm loving your toadstool pegs and other new goodies by the way..very lovely indeedy x Stay warm and I hope the washer gets fixed cheaply and quickly!

ps.I got your email, but it seems some people are not getting my replies for some reason..please dont think I'm being rude if yours didn't get through either will you? S x
