Trying really hard.......

I am trying to be good and not sit for ages each day catching up with all you other lovely blogs but ack it's hard not to give in to temptation.
There are so many other things i should be doing such as packing, cleaning, gardening but i just have to have my daily fix, and sometimes even two or 3 visits a day....... bad, bad, bad.

I should also be attempting to build my online buisness as it is suddenly dawning on me that my shop will be all empty and finished in about 6 - 8 weeks.
I should be sitting and making lots of stock for my website, Etsy and other shops.

But sometimes (like today) i just need to sit and draw out new ideas, look through my stash of fabric...... imagine working from my studio in Scotland by the sea xx

Infact the only thing of any worth that i have done today is upload a small portion of new stock on to the website which is sitting waiting in piles to be photographed.

I tell ya - having a website is hard work!

This is one such item - a cute heart frame.
I cannot resist anything heart shaped and this beauty also comes in pink or blue.

For the green fingered folk......

Ohhh - how did this one slip in to todays post?????
This is another treat for my cake plate collection from Louise

The birds just had to be mine.
Yet MORE to pack was Stephen's response.

On the handmade front i have made some new cards which i hope are off to a shop in Brighton.

Yep - got a bit of a fancy for birds at the moment.

My new favourite item for the website has to be these rolls of ribbon - they are on my list of "must make something with those"

Hope you are enjoying the better weather today - here in Kent it is sunny and warmish - but they say it is all down hill for the rest of the week.....
I say it is just getting us climatised to our forthcoming surroundings.

Oh, those ribbons are gorgeous !! Will you only sell online once you're up in Scotland, or look for another "real" shop? Sarah x

Love those bird cards. I will have to keep my eyes open for them when I'm in town. Good to hear you imagining life in Scotland too! Sunny today in Brighton, sad to hear it's all change again.

Yes, those ribbons are super. I will have to go check them out. I also have a thing for birds, when i see them on something, I just feel I have to have that thing. Oh by the way, I have 2 kids, both way past the bib stage but those bibs are GORGOEUS!

Thw whole website thing is hard work, I can completely sympathise with you on that one! WE've just spent the evening doing a bit of tidy up ourselves - it never takes long, but it's just making the effort to sit down and do it!

Rain here too, all day, very dreich, no gardening today! Not a bad thing though, at least I got some work done, and too much blogging too!

Nice to hear you talking about Scotland as "home".

i am totally with you on the 'blog reading' situation, it is near on impossible to put in a whole days work, when there are so many lovely places to visit and read...

and the online thing, i'm with you on that one too, just my little shop on Etsy takes me forever to get the stuff listed...i can't imagine having a whole website of goods to deal with :)

I know what you mean about not spending too long reading blogs. I'm off work for a couple of days and I have a list of things I want to get done but it's not going terribly well because I keep coming back to the computer! Really like the new plate, and really it's not too big to pack is it? The ribbons are also gorgeous too.

Don't beat yourself up about reading blogs, but maybe limit the time - I watch Homes under the Hammer every morning and read blogs at the same time, then get on and do some 'work'

Hi Tracy,

Thanks for the get well wishes x
I am feeling quite a bit better today.

I know exactly what you mean about there being so many lovely blogs to read, I am sure that I have a blog addiction, I just can't keep away.

I'm back!
so much for all that work I had planned.....your comments about not wanting a shop again are very interesting - I'm sure many women dream of having a little shop where they could sell this and that. Reality is always so different isn't it?

Hi Gigibird
The reality of running a shop slapped me in the face after about 3 months (the honeymoon period!). Suddenly being faced with having to be in the shop 6 days a week 9 - 6, and then still having to tidy and re stock in the evening and on Sundays, trade shows, paperwork, painting furniture.... the list goes on and on!
I have loved doing it, have made great friends through it but have had no social life - especially around Christmas, my home has been forgotten and so have my extended family who i am to exhausted to visit at the end of the week. I get asked questions so often by wannabe shop owners and i happily tell them the good, the bad and the ugly side of having a shop!
Cannot wait to be free!!!
