Mum xxx

Just popped in to say a quick "hello"

Having spent a really special weekend with my Mum, Aunties and Cousin Ellie, i have been left feeling a little sad that they had to return home so quickly.
The older i get ( now mid 30's) the more i grow to appreciate my mum.
I was a typically awful teenage girl, "too busy to visit" in my 20's, and now at the grand age of 34 i found myself crying when i had to say goodbye to my Mum!!

It's strange how time moves on and we grow and change and in my case, become a nicer person. I am starting to realise what is important in my life, its not the shop that seems to have swallowed the last 3 and a half years of my life, and its certainly not any material things.
It's the people around me that deserve my time, thoughts and attention.......
I really feel that the closing of my shop is happening at the right time in my life.
I need a T Shirt saying "been there, done that"!!!

But until the day of closing arrives the shop must go on!
And that is partly why i have been too busy to post over the last few days.
New stock arriving and slowly being photographed for the Website.

Here is a cutie xx

And part of our lovely new range of notebooks......

and Stationery.

A very cuddly Giraffe for the cool babies in town!!!!

and a new kitchen range to brighten up any mundane household chore xx

And i am still a do not speak to me i am a mad crazy sewing lady!!!
Ahhhh - i am pure joy to live with at the moment!!!
Just waiting for Stephen to throw his arms in the air, pack his bag and live in the mobile home on our site in Scotland - he says it is not far enough away - he would still be able to hear the whir of the sewing machine and my plea for another cup of tea!!!

See you all soon

Yep your officially getting old... only kidding.

But that 'been there done that' rears its ugly head far to often for me.

I can't even sit and have a good read of the homey magazines anymore. Is it me or have I seen some of those homes before ... maybe they do the rounds of the magazines.

Well that's enough moaning from me, better get off to the work room to tidy up ... uggh been there done that.... Now you've got me started.
Have a great day .... hee hee

Best wishes Ginny

I know just how you feel. I'm 36 and I regularly cry when I've spent time with my Mum. It's silly because a month or two can go by without seeing her and Dad, but when I do, I then feel really quite homesick for a few days afterwards. It's strange.
Poor George also had to put up with the whirring of my sewing machine last night but he wasn't in a position to complain as I was making curtains for his boat!

I know what you mean about your mum. I think maybe you appreciate your parents more as you (and they) get older. My mother lives across town from us so I'm fortunate to see her regularly. It sounds as though you have a big family, lucky you.

Hi Tracy, thank you for popping by my blog. It's nice that you appreciate your mum. I don't have mine with me anymore, she passed away when I was really young, but I always tried to show her how much she was important to me.
And I loved all the things to your shop. They are so cute that it's hard to fund a fav one. :)
Take care. x

Lovely new things - I especially like the spotty giraffe and those fairycake brushes. I completely understand what you wrote about your mum - it's the same for me - we were close when I was little but once I hit my teens we only seemed to argue and when I left home we didn't see much of eachother. Having kids was the turning point that brought us closer again - I could suddenly appreciate everything she'd done for me and I do my best now to give my kids the same happy childhood that I had.

It really sinks in as you get older -what is important in life - and it takes courage to make the changes to fit with what you value.
Love the brushes!

It's great that you appreciate your family so. My mom died 29 years ago and I still miss her every day.

On a brighter note, I LOVE THAT GIRAFFE! What great fabric!
