in other news....
a gross act of bullying took place yesterday evening....
this poor hooded crow was attacked by its own kind, at least fifteen other crows took him down in one of our sheep fields..
the screaming alerted us enough to reach him in time - it looks as if he has a broken wing...
he has spent today in a rabbit hutch, eating duck food soaked in warm water and gazing out to sea...
this evening a very kind and sweet inspector came and collected him - he is off to a rescue centre where they can assess the damage and see what his chances are....
we have everything crossed for our hooded friend

We have a major problem with magpies bullying the other birds in out area! I'm always finding the feathers of other birds near the fence where the magpies have pecked at them so that they can sit there!
I love the sheep picture its gorgeous. It is such a shame for the crow i hope he's ok xx
I always remember years ago when I was about 10, a crow got stuck in our neighbours TV aerial and hundreds and hundreds of crows arrived and killed it within a few minutes of hearing it's cries for help, it was awful and I've never forgotten it, especially the sound they made. All that was left was a little birdy skeleton that eventually fell off after a storm many months later.
Must be a crow thing but I hope your little hoodie chap will now be ok.
The sheep picture is just gorgeous..I want to stroke it! x
(hope the cushion got there ok..let me know if it hasn't, I posted it on the 9th but from a most peculiar rural post-office, I think he might be cycling up North with it!)eek!

Lots of love, must speak soon lovely lady xxxxx
that was very sweet of you to look after the poor bird - in our busy lives this sort of kindness can sometimes be overlooked.I've done this for an injured rabbit found in the road and also for a little fledgling which fell out of the nest....neither survived but at least I felt I had tried to help.
Love, love, love those sheep!
Sxx
Are those sheep sidehill dodgers?
He is BEAUTIFUL!
