special purpose

as regular readers of this blog will know we keep sheep..

we adore our sheep and are planning great things for them....

however
regular readers of this blog will also be aware that our sheep herding skills are a little poor..

*ahem*

so
one evening stephen was chatting to a fellow sheep fan who convinced him that our own dear sweet mcdog could, should, might have a special purpose...

stephen then convinced me....

we then braced ourselves and called in the mcdog....

he could tell by our tone of voice that we had something very, very serious to discuss with him...

he was understandably worried..

dare i say....
a little suspicious of our dastardly plan.....

but also a little curious....

you see
the lady that convinced us of this special purpose is a well known sheep dog trainer..

yes folks

sheep.dog.trainer

her thoughts are that as ghillie mcdog is a scottish deerhound he should in theory have some herding instinct inside him..

we think it is
deep
deep
deep inside him but have agreed that it is worth a shot...

she is sending us a dvd
i have found a whistle
stephen has dusted off his flat cap
we are good to go

we will keep you all informed
wish us luck

I love Ghillie, he is one gorgeous hound! My Grandad had an afghan than used to herd his goats, well so my Mom tells me but she had been drinking home made wine at the time so not sure if this true.

I have a little gift for you, could you please emeil me your address and i will get it in the post :) Alexandramason1@aol.com

Have a great week xx

Can't wait to see your antics ... I assume there will be a fair proportion of acrobatics involved but it could come good in the end. Mcdog will be so proud of his new status he'll be rounding up all your animals ... all in the call of duty of course. Such fun ... xx

I love it!! And Ghillie will love it. The sheep? Well, we'll see.
I have seen those competition shows with amazing herders and dogs, and I can tell it takes quite a bit of work. I hope Stephen is up to it ;-))
