felines

its not all about the hounds here....

the felines are also very, very beautiful as these pictures show
they are enjoying the newly covered kitchen table
what great models :)

the table is just an old pine one that has had very bad woodworm in the past - i simply painted the legs in Farrow and Ball's All White and stapled on a very precious piece of oilcloth from
Louise Loves - i was very lucky to be one of Louise's stockists when i had my little shop - strange how i managed to obtain this piece of material!

i am hoping that four adults can sit comfortably around it as we cannot fit a larger table in the space, although we are hoping to eat outside as much as possible.
only four more sleeps and then they will be here - eeekkkkk!

i am having to stop myself from meeting them at the airport as they have hired a car for the trip up to us - it is such a beautiful journey and i think it will be nice for my parents to see it without me squealing in the backseat :)
my mama has been here once before but we were in our rented cottage then where it was generally tidy(ish) and had a fully working bathroom...
ummmmm
as it stands today the ONLY bathroom that is remotely near becoming functional has tiling to be finished, a shower to be installed and a sink fitted....
oh
and there is currently nothing stopping anyone who happens to be in the garden seeing straight in to the shower!!
must, must, must sort that situation out pronto.....
the window is actually in the shower so i will not be able to put up a blind as such so will have to go down the frosted window look - i am sure i have seen some pretty options for this somewhere - i may not have time to do this before arrival day so we may be going for the scrap of fabric that has to be wrung out after each shower - not exactly five star accommodation here....

i have managed to make a few bits and bobs over the last week as i do tend to become a little jittery if i stop sewing completely...

first we have another of my paper hearts...

feel the wind in your hair

and then a simply white linen heart with my hare design...

i love hares and this shape fills me with joy - it is destined to appear on all manner of goodies over the next few weeks

i am also working on a whippet design - not sure if there is anyone else out there who desires a whippity item but it will keep me happy x

anyhoo
must go and finish painting the guest room whilst trying to avoid the four guys that are currently in my kitchen trying to finally fit the Rayburn so that it does not cover the entire house with soot when the wind changes.....

Hey Tracy about the window-try bubble wrap. Have seen this used as a shower curtain but it could work-with the obvious advantages of aesthetics, practicality and, I'm sure in your household being ready-to-hand.......

What is it with cats and tables. I often come down in the morning to find ours sat on the table. And Thomas likes to sleep on my laptop.

I had the same window-in-the-shower dilemma in my last house and used a piece of tablecloth vinly in a lace pattern to make a small curtain. The sun shown through, but it was drip dry and able to just be wiped down. Good luck, enjoy your time with your parents!

isn't it strange how the cats 'claim' their spots? mine all do the same whether it's sewing knitting or reading they will sit on whatever i am doing and probably thinking 'look at moie look at moie' .your anticipation is infectious and growing for your visitors .enjoy every little precious moment lynnie

Oh the kitty's are so gorgous. Bella is my favourite, she reminds me oh my Dougel so much. He'd of loved to miss her lol
To big bundles of fur snuggled up together, he was maybe a little less fluffy. Oh i miss him.

I think the alfresco shower sounds fabulous, i bet it has a wonderful view. You don't get that in hotels lol
Have a lovely time with your mama and dad. Not long now.

Hugs,

Gorgeous cats! Delightful puppy! Your life with a new addition sounds much like mine with little Millie - never a dull moment.

Oh, you can see pretty well through frosted glass when someone is in the shower (there's a house near me where the resident male unwittingly amuses the people at the bus stop each morning) - maybe waterproof shower curtain material might guard your modesty better!

Hiya, I thought I would pop along and catch up as it's been ages since I last said 'Hello' - hello!!

I too love Louise Loves and that print is awesome. Also all your little 'makes' are gorgeous.

Anyway, take care and have a lovely evening,
