no new arrivals......

sadly due to the chap driving to the halfway point coming down with a nasty stomach bug, i have no new arrivals to show you all :(

so to make up for this here are a few shots of Ghillie Mcdog....... our giant handsome boy x
i forget to take pictures of Ghillie, not because he is loved less, but because he is very rarely still....

he has grown at an alarming rate from a sweet, lively and slightly shy puppers in to a charming, handsome and slightly too cocky for his own good young chap!
try as we might he will still not spend any great lengths of time inside the house - we let him in and he bounds round with excitement, and in between hoovering up anything on the floor and worktops and kissing all the girls, he always keeps one eye on the door.......
always looking for a fast way out.....
a chance to be in the great outdoors come rain or shine.

he spends hours outside patrolling his land, checking up on the sheep, saying howdy to the ponies, and generally keeping guard.... its what Ghillie does......

if anyone approaches our gate then he is off, sprinting towards them with ears flapping and legs going in all direction, for Deerhounds are not the most graceful creature in flight...
if the visitor feels brave enough then they open the gate and are greeted by a big smile and lots of wagging, but most folk choose to stay on the lane side of the gate and holler for our attention!

we love this giant, smiling, happy, hairy monster but we are still baffled as to how he got so big so quick......
and we are hoping that the growing stage is over x

Sir Ghillie is truly a fabulous pup. the girls love him and think they can have rides on his back lol, i have to tell them that no he's not a small pony but a loveable doggy.
We have sooo many thanks for you, the girls eyes where popping out of their little heads lol at all the yumminess in that box of treats.
And me being a mean mummy cupcake have taken it all upstairs for photos, sweetie and all. It was like opening a box of delights, thank you, thank you my sweet friend. The rusty LOVE word will be hanging with my rusty robin on our twigs.
The cupcake cases and candles will be used in Feb and March for Molly and Daisy's birthdays. The note and pencils will be sharpened and master peices created. Badges worn and sweets eaten. Both cupcakes told Ben all abotu it when he got in from work, saying that Tracy in Scotland sent a box of goodies.
Thank you once again.
Lots of love and hugs,
Catherine Ben, Molly and Daisy x x x

What a gorgeous animal. He is a real beauty! I love Irish wolfhounds and I am thinking the deerhound is very similar?

You are a lucky girl.

What a wonderful free spirit! I love the way you've written about him - the smiles and wags for visitors. I can just imagine being the other side of the gate and wondering whether to be brave enough to enter!!

I still think that ghillie mac dog is the best name I've ever heard for a dog! My gran had a scottie dog named Tammytittlemouse or tam now that made me lsugh as a child. Shame about the no new arrivlas still better the man stayed away than brought you the free gift of a dodgy tum. If you like your yarns which I know you do have a look at ArtemisArtemis on Etsy you'll love her stuff.

As did many, I LOVED the photos of handsome Ghillie. And you know I have an arranged marriage (well, of sorts) in mind with my lovely deerhoundish lurcher Tinker, if Ghillie is willing, when she comes of age...
Lovely to think of you crocheting in the warm in front of the rayburn...
And the hairy legs/ bikini post made me laugh like a drain. I always call it my "winter coat" like ponies have, when justifying seasonal hairiness to husband.
