things i have learnt this week......

... there are good builders in the world

... when a very grumpy pony kicks you it REALLY hurts and leaves a REALLY big bruise

... living in a trailer for longer than a month is hardly any fun at all

... hay making is fun for us but not fun for the poor bunny that had his back legs removed :(

... working on preparing advertising for my humble little shop is hard work that i hate

... i miss having the space to create

... i would like another whippet (ssshhhh - do not tell Stephen)

... i am addicted to Big Brother and it is not a healthy addiction

.... life is short

... my sweet baby whippy suddenly looks very grown up indeed

... and has just started to realise that there are lots of rabbits in her garden

other than these lessons, this week has been ordinary
builders, hay making, visit to our local art center which turned out to be rather dull, and not a great deal else
lots of bloggers seem to be on a blogging holiday - i guess we have all slowed down for the Summer............

ohhh - i have managed to obtain a little tan!!!
for those that know me and my pale, pale skin will realise that this is a miracle indeed
i guess it is being outside more and the breeze off the sea - we have had a great summer here so far x

hope to be back soon with a slightly more exciting handful of events!

Miss Mabel looks so grown up! Well, you've been busy, and a bit of a rollercoaster too. Was it naughty Woody or naughty Dillon who kicked you? Those shetlands can be wilful little buggers. Hope the arnica is helping. Not long Tracy and you'll be in your new home....and lucky you to have a bit of a tan. No chance of that in Cornwall, far too wet!! D x
Ps maybe Stephen wouldn't notice another whippet...you could just sneak one in...

Glad to hear you are having great weather.

We are NOT here in Kent. It is shite (is that Scottish enough for you?)

Oh yes, being kicked by a pony sure does hurt as does having one's foot stamped on by an angry hoof.

Get another whippet. They don't take up much space as they are thin and waif like.

Not quite sure why, but I love this post! Glad someone's getting a tan and a sunny summer!!

Pony kick? Poor bunny!? Bruises? Space...

You've got a tan!! It's sounding like a growing week indeed. Enjoy your sea sprays :)

*Cheers*

Oh, I really thought you had run off with Bob the builder..:-)))

Now, it can be very dull doing t*A*s*k*s. this is why (I think) Boys are more into it. they L*i*k*e sequential, assembly, grubby stuff.

This is where I always like to have a little escapist moment. Always have on hand items such as some sequins, glue, paper and pens, nail buffer and emmollients. I think nice little moments of relief like this are good. x

hope you get over your kicking episode quickly, it sounds like you have moved to a really lovely place, the weather here in france hasn't been to bad but I still have a yearning for the ruggedness of scotland, you may see me sooner rather than later Tracy. Hope your replacement builders are better behaved than your last one. speak soon

You've come a long way since moving up to Scotland, sounds like an eventful week! You'll have that space before long, just hold on to that thought and sneak another whippet in to take your mind off living in a trailer.....
I opted out of Big Brother this year (I've watched every year so far), so glad I did, try it next time!

Glad to hear someone in the UK is having good summer weather. Here in south Essex it is truly horrible - more like October than August. I'm with you on the Big Brother addiction - wish I could stop watching but every evening it just lures me in again!! And I don't even like anyone who's left now.

Tracy - you are going to end up like one of those people who have 19 children because they like babies but with you it is puppies.
How do they grow up so fast?
I would wait until you are in the house for another whippet - I think Stephen will notice another in the trailer.

It's lovely to hear you've soaked up some of the sun. It's been a little scared to show it's fun here over the last couple of weeks. Can you post a bit in with my parcel? lol
I'm sure you can sneak another puppy in somewhere, maybe disguise it in some floral fabric ;) and teach it to do an impression of a lamp shade lol
Wow Mabel Moo has grown, I bet Ghillie is as big as a house now too.
The girls will think he's a pony for rides lol
Talking of Ponnies, I hope the naughty one said sorry Mummy for kicking you and it's not to sore.
Chin up honey, not long before you're be in you're beautiful new house. And it will be Home weet Home all the way.
Many thanks for the email, your kindness really helped.
Lots of love,
Catherine, Ben and the cupcakes. x x x

Another whippet sounds just the thing to me Tracy. I would be going nuts in aa trailer with all the rain we are having in Cornwall and whatever tan I had aquired has almost gone! Sigh... xx

Those whippets look like the sweetest four legged pups I have ever seen!

PS - never been kicked by a pony, but was taken for a rather wild ride on one once when I was a kid... does that count? lol =)

Yipes, poor bunny!
And, congratulations on your tan. I have never had one in my life.

Of course you should get another dog!

It has been amazing to catch up with your progress - have been so caught up with my own project that I have had very little time for looking at even my favourite blogs such as this one... And I'm always behind with my own Blog!
The house looks amazing - much more ambitious than what we are doing, as at least we had the railway carriages to start with, so it is no wonder it is taking a long time... And in my experience, builders CAN be elusive... How frustrating for you. Fingers crossed for work resuming soon. Ours have always had our daughter starting school as a deadline - and now Wilma's puppies, too - so they are taking that seriously. It won't be completely finished, but there we go.
I smiled at your lovely friendship pics of the animals - and then cried about Annie. I too know what it is like to lose a good friend far too young, and even seven years on I think of her almost every day - now with more happiness at having known her than the raw grief that is so all-consuming earlier on. So my heart goes out to you.
Lovely Blog, lovely animals, and lovely work.
