hi

its good to be back x

i am feeling much better but am easing myself back into everyday life slowly

stephen calls it being lazy and yet another way to avoid housework

he has a point........

life here has been quiet over the last week, my darling laptop has been seen to but in my opinion (and i know my lappy) she is still unhappy - running a little slow, making some uncomfortable noises....

stephen is booking her in for another examination this evening - he has tried to persuade me to use the other, more vibrant, new, shiny laptop but i just cannot do it

i just cannot be unfaithful to the lappy that has been with me from the start of my business cupcakes

the lappy that has played solitaire in the quiet moments, directed me to Amazon time and time again, found the wonderful world of blogs, taken the abuse of all the cake crumbs that have been dropped on her...

i just will not give up on her!

whilst being laid up in my bed with the whippets i managed to catch up on some reading, hand sew the little madam in the pictures and not a lot else.

stephen on the other hand has gone to work, made me yummy things to eat, fixed my anglia, taking her in for new tyres, made headway with the house and still found time to locate a breeder of the sheep he so desperately wants.

busy chap - he puts me to shame.

.....all while i sat in a world of my own and made a dog from vintage fabric (not the spotty) and buttons - i really like her - she may be joined by a few more once i have tweaked my badly drawn and cut out pattern (hard to do with whippets by your side!)

i may even sell a few and give half the money to an animal rescue centre which i support and would love to do more for

they will be made from the huge selection of fabric that i seem to gather, all different, all with personalities of their own.

they will not be named as i think it is important that the new owner decides, they will just all sit under the group name....

Annies dogs

in memory of my wonderful best friend who begged me time and time again not to own a Dachshund!!!

the trouble is, and i told Anne this on many occasions, apart from whippets these little dogs have stolen my heart and will one day have to be mine - not one but two - they are just whippets on tiny legs with slightly more attitude

and it does not help my need for these little dogs when i pop over to here and set eyes on Maggie xxxxxx

just look what my little daxie can do

interesting and windswept

who could resist?

oh - i also made a pair of fingerless mittens - not nearly as interesting - but perfect for the windswept days ahead.

t x

p.s - back soon with the result of the giveaway - i need to go back and gather all the suggestions - thank you for all who entered - and if you have not left a suggestion then get to it x

p.p.s - and thank you for all the get well messages for me and lappy - we both felt loved x

p.p.p.s - i know i am sooooo behind on catching up with emails and saying hello to all the lovely new folk that have visited my blog over the last week - i have not forgotten you - i will reply as soon as lappy is feeling a little better x

p.p.p.p.s (the last one i promise) just a quick sorry to any one who is waiting for a parcel from me - the postal strike has held them all captive - hope that they will be with you all soon x

bye xxx

Hi,

Glad to hear you're feeling better, even if your laptop isn't yet feeling 100%.

Cute little doggie and gloves :)

Phew! Glad you are back. Sounds like being unwell was jst the perfect opportunity for catching up on a little cottage industry...
I am afraid Daschunds are not topdog with me. I like terriers. If
you are making any terriers... x

Hi Tracy,
Well your sounding alot better but sorry to hear the lappy isn't feeling the same. Maybe it is time to let her have a rest, give her a holiday.
And maybe she'll be back to her old self.

The dog is very cute.

Hugs.

I love the little doggie, sometimes it is important to do little things that make you happy - you don't have to be "busy" all the time.

Hi Tracy,
I would love to have a dashshund too, just like "maggie"
When I was growning up there was such a stigma with these dogs. As if they were not real dogs. But NOW I think they are so adorable and have soulful eyes.:0
Husband knows I want one...maybe a Christmas puppy! Love your hand crafted one.

Lovely pup but dare I say I'm not sure about her nose?
I have a soft spot for Dachshunds as Harry used to have a friend who was one....now sadly gone to doggy heaven.

So glad you're back. And better.
And, needless to say - I *love* the dachshund - I have a soft spot for flappy ears and button noses. The mitts/gloves/handwarmer thingies look squishy and lovely and - with the exquisite buttons on them - very elegant as well.

You are so clever-I love the things you make! I'm so pleased that you're feeling better now, I hope you're still taking it easy though! You made me laugh saying about the crumbs on your laptop-mine is the same-I can't press the pound sign properly because a crumb or something is under it!!!xxx

Tracy thanks so much for your kind welcome to blogging, I would have been over sooner to thank you but I too had a head cold. Glad we are both on the mend now, love, love your gorgeous vintage dog, you are talented. And kind, what a brilliant idea to donate some of the profits to an animal shelter.

Glad you are feeling better!

I love your creations... and those mittens look so yummy.

My brother in law has had daschunds for years (with the following names: Mustard, Peanut Butter, and Jelly -- Jelly is a little white one who looks more like a Jack Russell). They are very loyal, especially the female one. =)

What a cute dog! Glad to heart that you are on the mend. I think I need to make some of those fingerless gloves for indoors ~ my booth at the market is adjacent to the door and it is getting quite cold now.

Hi,
s'me again. Missing all your pics of lovely things. However, yesterday I went to the knitting and stitching show and I bought....
a book about making cloth fairy dolls, the cloth and some wool. Honestly there was sooooooooooooo much I could've got. also how fantastic- embellishing machines that hold all your fabrics together with what looks like willpower. It just gets better...
xx Hope you get better soon too.xx
