i have now learnt that in the future when stephen turns to me and says....
do you really need another table....
i shall so no - and walk away.
the garage is full, the dining room is full and so is the spare room.
( if you are reading this mum - bring small amount of luggage only! )
it would be fine if it was possible to arrange all these belongings so that they looked nice - but what can you do with half a room of cardboard boxes that have pickfords or walkers crisps written on the sides?
so - as much as it is wonderful to have a roof over our heads and to not be stuck in a mobile home on site ( how we ever thought that was a good idea ), it is even nicer to get out and about with the girls and explore.
this is the nearest harbour to our home to be - also our nearest village.
we took note of the scary sign and parked a safe distance from the edge........
it is a great place to visit as you can sit outside a really nice cafe and enjoy the sunshine and the views.
the fisherman can be seen bringing in the catch ....
and after lunch you can walk up a steep hill to experience the most breathtaking views.
so lots of walking, eating lunch and shopping for cakes
hurrah!!
in all honesty i am loving this new life, i do not miss being a shop owner at all - in fact i wake up every morning and rejoice that i do not have to worry about stock, opening up, staff, bills........
i have a new sense of freedom.....
how long this will last i am not sure - i have great trouble in sitting still and not filling my day with a list of jobs to complete.
i am hoping that moving to our new house and having the chance to keep lots of animals will keep me busy.
no news or pictures from the site yet - special trial pits have been dug - and the men that know are doing there stuff.....
but as soon as there is some exciting action i will be there with my camera!

Does the fisherman's catch get distributed and eaten locally or is it loaded up onto lorries and sent to Spain as it is in Mull?

as far as i could see the catch was headed for local folk - no large refrigeration lorries in sight - just loaded on to the back of a pickup truck!
It sounds like you've settled in nicely apart from the boxes. Loving the photos, they are breath taking. Just wait till you wake up to them every day, wow!

It's already been said but I have to say it again, it all looks so lovely.
As someone who has relocated myself my advice would be 'Embrace this new life' but it sounds like you are already doing that.

I have been away and returned to find you had made it up to your new life.. so glad for you... and wow what scenery. Felt for you on the journey.. very eventful.. hope all your precious animals are now settled. Look forward to seeing how the building is going. What a beautiful place you've moved to,so scenic.Your Archie does look very well settled!
I've been to that harbour on a stormy day in July this year. I spoke to one of the fishermen that was going out, his boat is in the photo and he said he catches small crab that are shipped to Spain because no one wants to eat them in Scotland..... We stayed only a few hours, but it was a beautiful village and we are happy that we went via. We had an extra day before we went back with the ferry Norröna.
