as mr panic decided to stay for a while we got in to the car and headed for the coast.
we started at winchelsea but the tide was in so it only had stones and pebbles, and the girls just complained, and complained and complained........
so we got back in to the car and headed off to one of our favourite walks at fairlight
the views are spectacular, the grass is soft and green, and the girls ran their little socks off.
when we returned home i uploaded the pictures i had taken on to the computer and just had to show you these.....
i am not sure what they are but the colours and textures are just perfect.
it did look like a whole row of mexican hats on driftwood!
stephen was just grateful i did not have a spade in my mary poppins style bag in order to dig and dig and take one home.
we enjoyed afternoon tea in a wonderful cafe
the girls enjoyed cheese scones and cake...... and even shared some with us x
when we were all tucked up in bed that night Bean decided that she would like to be a pirate......
so today i have ordered her something special...........
all will be revealed soon.

Glad you had a good day out!! Love those pieces of wood too. There's nothing like being beside the sea to clear your mind is there.

I'm wondering what you've got Bean ...
I love those bits of wood. You are lucky to be near the coast, we are a very far inland.

What wonderful drift wood, that would make a lovley postcard. You where very good not to try and dig one up, think of the move lol "not more stuff to pack Stephen would say".
Love that little pirate, very sweet.
A day out at the seaside sounds like it was just what you both needed. Clear your heads and blow away the cobwebs. Now it's full steam ahead for your lovely new life.
Looking forward to seeing the surprise.
Speak soon hun
Catherine x Can you let me know how much the green dresser in the shop window is? sorry I saw it and fell in love.
I love Winchelsea!
Wayne just told me that those things are 'beach breaks'...they keep the beach from 'moving'...(wha?. They have an official name but we aren't sure. Wayne (being from Whitstable) says they have been there a VERY long time!
Don't you just love moaning dogs? (not!) Jake is a whinging pain in the neck as soon as he sees grass or beach...he can't get out of the car soon enough!
He's in trouble right now and has the guilty dog look. He nicked my icecream when I wasn't looking! Bad dog.

Love your pics, thanks for posting a comment on mine, i love looking through yours, i think your rabbits are fab, too bad i missed your giveaway draw , do you sell them?
That pirate is FANTASTIC!
I'm so jealous of your seaside adventures! My partner is English, and he would dearly love to do what you're doing, pack up everything, and move.....only it's quite a bit further from Australia to the Lake District!!!!
Thanks for visiting my blog.... I say one can NEVER have too many pincushions, and I'm so pleased that you could still want to make one of mine after buying one of Mandas!
Thanks for the compliments!

Great pictures and the cheese scones sound pretty yummy. Can't wait to find out about Bean's pirate surprise.
It sounds like a lovely time! I hope that the panic has faded a bit.... Moving is always stressful during the process, but I think it always feels wonderful afterwards to know how much you accomplished:)
Sounds as though you had a lovely day...
I love drift wood, sometimes on the beach near to us you find a piece in the shape of a elephant or fish..,its funny what the crashing of the waves turns it into!

I'll trade my side of the Atlantic Ocean for yours! heehee =) Beautiful photos!!!!!
It's a groyne - a sea wall preventing erosion.
Some of Harry's friends get carried over the pebbles....he has to rough it because he's too much of a lump
I really need to do less Blogging and get out more!! It looks fantastic there!! You have probably been tagged before, but perhaps we can here another 8 random things about you again?! Need to do 8 but you are the 3rd!! Must get going to find another 5!!

The beach looks beautiful. There's nothing like going to the beach to make you feel calm and relaxed.
Love the pirate - what a cutie.

I love your picture of the beach, it looks like something you'd buy at Ikea! Good luck with your imminent move.
Beautiful photos! You did the right thing, the fresh air and sea breeze always help to clear the mind - tell Mr Panic he's going on holiday, you don't need him around!!!
I'm sure all will be fine with the move and can't wait see the photos and hear all about it!

There is nothing nicer than being by the sea and even nicer when you have your favourite doggie firends with you. I love taking my boys to the beach in Ireland - I don't mind sharing my cake with them either!
Thanks for the goodies - yes it is a worry things won't arrive in one piece but they did so no worries. I had a lovely time in Devon thank you.
What did you get Bean? I am curious.
Anniex
This sounds like a wonderful day out and exactly the right thing to do when panic sets in:) Little doggy paws don't like pebbly beaches - big human paws aren't keen either!
I love the picture of Trevor on your sidebar - where is he now? I've been away so much recently that I'm way behind on reading my blog friends' news.
And Bean as a pirate - this I must see! She doesn't look fierce enough to be running round brandishing a cutlass:)
How wonderful! What a perfect day out - i am wondering too what Bean is going to get.....
Oh I adore the pictures in todays post. I love the beach and you really have captured the essence of it. Driftwood is about the most romantic thing in the whole world.
Cherry xx
I love driftwood too, and even better it's free! Hope you are getting organised for the big move xx
Your coastal pictures are brilliant.
