a first.....

badger is our fastest whippet....
but today he faced some competition....

for the very first time i let badger run with his very own son... cricket :)

i have put this off as badger has a tendency to get a little over excited and leap upon his running partner.. the thought of that on young tiny puppy bones .....

anyhoo - today cricket looked ready - taller than his own papa and fit as a butchers dog!

oh my....
they can run fast....

i just stood and watched in awe - they both looked as if they were gliding above the grass..
mesmerising and so beautiful - whippets doing what whippets do best!

young cricket loves his dad........

after ten minutes of constant chasing the badgeman promptly jumped in to the hay storage shed thus ending the game....

the youngster had totally worn the old man out!

he retreated inside and climbed on a soft feather eiderdown..

a day of whippety fun

Hi Tracey

Congratulations to Cricket! It's amazing where the time's gone from when he was that tiny, unexpected bundle of loveliness.

Sweet memories captured beautifully. Brings back treasured thoughts of when my lurchers were pups, Blue could clear a 5 bar gate with a clear foot at the top with Leo not far behind. Blue is long gone and Leo is a sleepy old boy in the chair next to me... I adore your lovely long dogs. x

Ah, just lovely ! Archie is a rocket too, but the mud tends to weigh him down somewhat sometimes :-)

Well, he is a Springer afterall, if they aren't splatted in mud, there's something wrong somewhere !
