the start of another week

and the "to do" list is long........

morning, morning, morning x

the days here seem to drift by so easily - i have no structure to my day at the moment except the feeding times of the hounds, and even that is a little hit and miss and i often wonder to myself why on earth the gang are hanging around the pantry!
whippets are far to polite to shout for food instead they just make themselves look even thinner and shake a little - bean is currently the champion for this particular look.......

i think the problem with my lack of structure and striking off completed jobs on the list is the fact that i tend to drift from room to room following the sun, gazing out to sea whenever i can hoping to catch sight of the whales that are currently using our part of the coast as a feeding ground.....
there is just too much to see out of the windows, wildlife, sheep with mad hair, dancing lambs and two ponies reclining in the sunshine... bliss

but i must, must, must knuckle down to a routine so that the progress of the house can move on and then i stand a better chance of my studio build starting - i think that once i have my own space to retreat to i will fill my days more productively.... well thats the hope

as we are having such lovely sunny days at the moment we are both being pulled in to the garden - himself busy erecting a woven fence round our veggie garden and me just poodling around doing not very much!

seeds are in and designs are down on paper but a great deal rests on actually locating plants this far North -we want to buy as much locally as we can not only as a support to our small shops but also so that we know the plants and trees are used to the climate here and are hardy - a few herbs purchased from the dreaded DIY store survived exactly one night - o.n.e.n.i.g.h.t - a relatively warm night with a low wind - rubbish
i guess these perfect looking specimens are all kept inside warm and cosy buildings until the very last moment when they are thrust in to the public glare - of course they shine and show off their beauty for a few days giving us just enough time to part with our cash..... lesson learnt

so
i start this week with a spring in my step and the determination to see a good few projects through which will include sorting out the invites for Sea House - thank you so much for your response, i have been overwhelmed with the amount of lovely folk that are keen to see this build through to the end as much as we are!
i will attempt to send invites out during this week and then actually post something over there or you will arrive to only the old news :)

back soon with thrifting treasures and more tales of our poor old sheep and their horrendous hairdo's - the pictures i have taken are quite something!

have a lovely Monday

My assistant's response to lax feeding times is to fall asleep - somewhat self-defeating as a plan one would think.

Oh I do know what you mean Tracy and I would be even worse with whales to watch. x

I AM DOING MY BEST TO NOT FEEL GUILTY TO STOP AND WATCH THE BIRDS AND WILDLIFE. I WALK FROM ONE ROOM TO ANOTHER AND NEVER QUITE FINISH ONE! THIS MORNING HAS BEEN SPENT WATCHING A BLUE JAY "STEAL" FOOD FROM THE CAT DISH. HE MAKES ME SMILE SO I AM CONTENT GOD WANTS ME TO WATCH THE LITTLE THIEF!
HAPPY THRIFTING! I FOUND A WONDERFUL OLD APRON THE OTHER DAY AT A YARD SALE. IT'S VERY PRISSY!

Whats to decide? - the whales surely win everytime. I would love to keep up with your house progress if you will let me. Have a productive week - jacqui x

Would it work to put your herbs in one of those plastic little greenhouse things-they are quite reasonable at Argos or the like?

As for lack of structure, now that's a very OT sort of thing...
I say, enjoy it while you can. you could always write about whale, sheep, pony watching to fill your time..oh and have a nice cup of tea and a sit down as they do at Peachyhollow :-))

I too find that I'm drifting about due to lack of structure in my day at the moment, maybe it's something to do with the time of year? Maybe that's just an excuse?

OMG! You have whales too?!
I'd never get anything done...
I'm being totally distracted here in London by a family of young Great Tits practicing their flying round my garden, narrowly missing my conservatory!
