sea mist.....

for the last few days we have been enveloped in a thick sea mist...
it rolls over us in the early morning and hangs around until late afternoon making it impossible to see very much at all....

the view from our window is very important to us all, it still has the ability to take my breath away when i glance out to the vast sea, we are constantly checking on ponies and sheep, and the dogs and cats are always taking a peek

this morning i moved the table from the kitchen in readiness for a spot of wall painting, and i placed the table and chairs in the main living space....
of course archie had to test out the new pew with a view, but even he seemed perplexed with the whiteness

so instead he concentrated on the possibility of jumping from the table on to his beloved beam above....

not a chance young man......

when the visibility is so low i tend to encourage the hounds to loiter around the house - the thick mist is too much of a temptation for a certain bean to escape the boundaries under the magical misty cloak......
so they tend to do an awful lot of lounging around.....
young cricket has become an expert, some would say gifted, maybe a world champion?

he takes the easy morning as a chance to show us all how long his legs are now......

and how his whippet nose seems to be growing quicker than anything else :)

he is going through the mad puppy ear stage - no control of them at all - they just hang around in different directions!
and yesterday i noticed whilst he was sprinting past me at speed a dark smudge on his side - when i finally caught up with him i gave it a rub thinking it was coal dust......
it was then i noticed a few more dots......

it seems that he is about to prove to us all that badger is absolutely his very own dotty dad and mabel moo is his auntie x

The mist looks beautiful! I am amazed at the nose. I wonnder if it hurts with growing pains like children have in their legs. He fits in eprfectly doesn't he?

That Sea mist pic would make the most beautiful textile piece, a bit of fabric here, a bit of thread there, a bit of my lovely new dyes here ....

As for the Puppy, if he's getting too big, put him on the train to Tunbridge Wells. Although I'd really quite like Mabel Moo as well :-))

how enchanting, the mist, the cast of characters at your house. cricket certainly is a master of relaxation, even at his tender age.

Cricket sure knows how to relax - definitely a world champion. And those ears are just too cute.

Hello dear T..
It's the stranger from the south here!
I always think of you when the weather map on Sky tv shows clear skies in your part of the world.. it looks absolutely stunning in your photos.. mist or no mist!
I love the quality of the mist.. we used to get it on our hols in Cornwall and it has an ethereal quality about it.. sounds become more acute...
I could eat your Archie up.. he is utterly gorgeous and could teach my Mr Pickles a thing or two about best viewpoints..
Hope life is fine and dandy with you.. your home is beautiful and you must be so proud of your patience, perseverance and planning when building your perfect home..It has certainly paid off.
