beautiful mama's.......

indulge me whilst i gasp at our beautiful Boreray Ewes...
all hopefully with a beautiful lamb nestling inside.......

the time is coming for these sweet babes to enter the world and take a peek at their new life here at Sea House...
a place where they will be loved, looked after, want for nothing and live out their days....

our first babies, our first time being responsible for our own lambs and not just assisting with someone else's

a big responsibility which we are both looking forward to, but are both very nervous about...
our six girls have become very important to us - a marker of our new life in Scotland, our first livestock......
yes we are nervous
but we will hopefully be prepared to welcome new tiny soul's in to our hearts

it just makes me want to skip for joy!
we have not had any of the pregnancies confirmed as we want to avoid any stress on our girls - sheep will easily abort their young :(
instead we have been closely watching as six bellies have swelled, appetites increased and sleep time lengthened.......
.... hoping that it is not just an extra layer of fleece!

if our calculations are correct then lambing should start in about 4 - 5 weeks time, each girl should have been tupped by the marvelous Rodders within the space of a week so maybe, just maybe, if we are really lucky all babes will arrive safe and sound within a week, in time for two special visitors who are coming to stay xx
if our calculations are wrong then do not fear my sweet mama and dad - we will have plenty of surgical gloves in stock so you can lend a hand :)

How amazing to see that, wow.
They will be so small and all warm and cosy.
