hounds....

my name is Tracy and i have an addiction to Whippets.....
actually if the truth be told the arrival of the boys is down to Stephen....

this chap is Pax - litter brother of our own dear sweet Miss Mabel Moo - he was a very lucky boy and found his new forever home with a kind couple and their two chihuahuas - shortly after his arrival he was joined by another pup - Zulu x

they have lived happily with their new owners and would still be with them now, but sometimes life is so unkind to wonderful people....
so
these two chaps had to find a new forever home :(

i initially said "no" as on a normal day it is i who sorts out the animals both inside and out - my mornings work cannot begin until all my animals are walked, fed and smiling happily!
i knew that bringing two pups in (both under a year old) would mean more work and less time for me and my little business.
Stephen and i talked and talked and gradually he weakened me by promising to be a little more aware of what is needed in the mornings, rather than him stepping out of bed and going on his merry way without a thought for me and the crew!!
so
the boys are really here because of him.....

and i am so pleased that they are xx

the girls have welcomed them in to our home as i knew they would - all our dogs are pretty laid back and friendly - they seem to take each new arrival in their stride....
Ghillie thinks that it is great to have more males around and is doing his best to welcome them in without stepping on them :)

Zulu has fallen in love with Mabel big time - needless to say a trip to the vets will be in order in the future - NO PUPS HERE!!!!
and Pax is the spitting image of his sister - same character, same need for lots of cuddles - just so much bigger!

so that is the tale of the new chaps - we are not sure if we will change their names or not - they are perhaps not names that we would have chosen so we will see.
i do keep thinking that Pax could be an "Alfie" and that Zulu might be a "Wilf"....... :)
but as i say - it is early days and they seem to be settling in but who knows?
we hope that they are here to stay x

this will be my last animal inspired post for awhile - i am aware that my blog seems to feature nothing else - so from the next post there will be other lovely things x

back soon and thank you all for your lovely words about the boys - their first owners and the wonderful breeders of Pax and Mabel read this blog and it will be lovely for them to see all your messages x

Aw. Bless your little cotton socks for taking the happy chappies in:o) I thought Pax/Alfie was Mabel's bro.

We once had 7 dogs (whippet+ sized) in a 3 bed semi. Easy peasy. You just need to get a routine. We were all toasty on a night though. Dogs are great feet warmers:o)

Oh my goodness, what a brood you have! It's such a lovely home for them to come too, no wonder they're settling in so well.

Hopefully I might have new fury arrivals to introduce in the next week or so. We're currently trawling the rescue places for a special feline :)

Ok I'm losing count now! Just how many dogs do you have now? The newest additions are adorable and how lovely for them that they have found a beautiful new home amongst that wonderful Scottish countryside with lots of friends to play with and room to run around. I am longing for us to get a dog(well we both are actually) but what with Wedding plans and one thing and another we will have to be patient.

If the boys can cope with name changes I think your choices would be great!

I'm just wondering who (singular or plural) is/are going to be the subject/s of your next animal post. Still no pigs or donkeys I see ... ;o)))

They are just so cute, we've fallen in love with them already.
And life has a plan sometimes and theirs was to end up with you two wonderful people. And have a fabulous long life in bonnie Scotland.
Welcome lads, extra big hugs from the cupcakes x
Treats on their way lol

I believe there is part of the 12 step recovery plan referring to:
*Forgiving one self* for one's whippet tendencies, excesses and all

Then again is another part: *encouraging different socialisation patterns* i.e no more whippet parties..
and finally,
*what's done is done* you cannot change it....
is this to do with me telling you about my friend with ten border collies?

A lot of work yes, but so worth it, what a happy, lively home it must make for.

How wonderful that you have been able to increase your brood! Sad that they couldn't stay with their intial family. Anyway they seem to have landed on their feet with you.

BTW As an Aunty to two deliciously naughty and lovable whippies I am more than happy to read more posts about hounds!

I, too, have a love of Whippets (and other long-nosed doggies). The love of my life is Princess, a Whippet mix.

Your two new pups are both so very pretty! I don't think I've ever seen a Whippet with an eye patch like that. :)

Oh, you star ! I'm sure they are gorgeous boys...whats another 2 eh ;) Funnily enough I cat tested THE most gorgeous girl lurcher yesterday...she was just perfect, so serene and gentle and not at all fussed with the cats. I would have had her there and then. I pleaded with Nick....but he put his foot down :(....he's only just coming around to Wilfy...

Well done for being so big-hearted. They look lovely chaps - Zulu/Wilf is very like my first whippet, Misty (or Wisty Mippet to her friends) - many years ago now. I've had several down the years, but my husband and I have sadly decided no more dogs now my mum's little dog has gone to join her.

I will just have to enjoy yours instead.
