Right then, that's torn it.Expect torrential gales and lashing storms day and night from here on in....

Ghillie MacMonsterdog just looks like a huge big puppy in that picture. There really is little grown-up about him other than his size, is there?

Very much loving the green going on too. It is my best and my favourite.

Lovely dog pictures!

But . . .grapes in Scotland in May? Hum. Where were they flown from? In a big airplane which uses a lot of f--l and creates more P-------n?
No, not a criticism, at all. Just a heads up. You opened my eyes over bottled shampoo, and I am awaiting my first parcel of shampoo bars. I am gently encouraging you to look for fruit, and goods in general, which travels as little as possible;-)

I can't wait to see what your house will look like. Is there a site on which I can see the plan?

Fruit in Scotland in May = Rhubarb, which is officially a vegetable anyway.
That means either importing or preserving.
May is a problematical month for home grown food in general - its not known as "the hungry gap" for nothing - stored veg is dwindling (not another ****** cabbage syndrome) and the new season hasn't begun - it will be another 3 weeks before I have anything bar asparagus to harvest.
The ultra green option would be to can and freeze all the beautiful rasps (though with their plastic covers they are presumably terrible too?)and other fruit that Scotland produces over the summer. . . .
I have a very good rhubarb vodka recipe.
Its not easy being green

Gorgeous doggy pics as usual.
We have had the sunniest summery few days - it's been wonderful.

As an aside re the grapes comment: The children and I are doing healthy snacks in May and I must say I never thought about where my fruit platters are coming from. Only that for a little while we aren't eating biscuits and cakes and chocolate. I can't wait for scottish strawberries but in the meantime I'll take what I can get and that includes british apples, kent strawberries, plums from chile, and melons and grapes which appear to have no point of origin!

A friend of mine told me the other day that we see more shades of green than other colour. Looking at your photos it must be true!

And I am green too seeing those gorgeous cups!
